you can survive being hit with structural damage in the core, you will NOT survive an ammo explosion in the core, thats gg for your pilot and your mech. that easily got me through to heavy/assault stage of he game, and i was very reluctant to swap any of them out.ĭont ever put ammo in your center torso. My 2nd playthrough i went 2 6SL firestarters, 1 ML/SRM shadowhawk and an LRM cent boat. Shadow hawk are the best early game brawlers also, ML/SRM and you JJs and holy cow. Please give me some build suggestions that have worked for you and I'll throw them on and see how things go. I usually don't get the chance to fire so many times in a row, though. How would you build it out for early game, assuming you'd be facing vehicles, medium and small mechs?īTW with my current setup, I can fire both weapons, fire the AC20, then fire both weapons, fire the AC20, according to my heat buildup. I've thought about replacing the AC20 with an AC 5 or 10, though the 20 does more damage per ton than either of those. It knocks off arms, torsos or really anything it hits and does seem to take medium mechs down nicely, though it has a much harder time with smaller mechs. This fit seems to work quite well when I can get in relatively close. The largest mech I have right now is the CN9-A, 50 tons. ![]() My experience so far is that the smaller weapons spread their damage out and do less to kill the mech quickly, while the larger weapons will apply a large amount of damage to a smaller area, damaging the mech more quickly. ![]() I've been experimenting with two types of mechs, ones with lots of smaller, medium weapons (AC2, medium laser), and those with larger weapons (AC20 and PPC).
